Contamination Status of Dioxin in Vietnam

The Vietnamese people have been exposed to toxic chemicals due to defoliant sprayed by US army during the Vietnam War, and 50 years later, they are still under health threat as toxic chemicals are remaining in soil, precipitate, dust and food of all US army bases and military bases.

Three million hectares  of the  entire territory  of Vietnam are  contaminated  with dioxin  that is  class 1 cancer-causing  agent due to defoliants sprayed during the Vietnam War.  Dioxin-contaminated sites  in Vietnam have faced a number  of enormous problems such as deformed child, environmental destruction and economic threat to Vietnam up until now.  The Vietnamese government has put a lot of effort into settlement of the dioxin problems but has not worked things out yet.

During the Vietnam War, the US army sprayed defoliants in the region of 3 million hectares all over the country.

Unfinished pain, continued damages, but not found solutions

Dioxins exceeding 10 times  of the limit are still detected from the area  where defoliants are sprayed.
Damages and pain from dioxins are still ongoing, but no one has found solutions so far.
